Corvettes For Sale: 481-Cube Katech 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition on BaT

If you have a high-stakes race taking place any time after 11:22 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 – we’re talking typical track guy situations here, like an urgent need to outdrive your best friend/teammate so that your wife doesn’t shack up with him, having to win to keep your thumbs unbroken after placing a sizable wager on yourself using money borrowed from a New Jersey-based “sanitation” business that you can’t otherwise cover, or a lap record requirement put in place by the witch that cursed your family generations ago over a pair of stolen shoes – then Bring a Trailer might have the answer to all of your prayers up for grabs as we speak!

As if the official “All-time favorite” Corvette of this particular blogger wasn’t fast enough with its ZR1-nipping 7:22.68 ‘Ring chops, 2011 Z06 Carbon #40 was turned up to 12, sharpened by flame (quite literally) and turned up again. It came out the other side as a blue monster worthy of giving James P. Sullivan a run for his money out on Scare Floor F! The mods are comprehensive, but the undisputed star of the show is the 481 cubic-inch (7.88L!) Katech V8 that makes a claimed 670 horsepower and 652 lb.-ft. of torque… at… the… wheels! This animalistic powerplant breathes in with the aid of a carbon fiber Halltech intake and exhales through American Racing Headers and four big Akrapovic pipes without cats!

Other mechanical enhancements include Hoosier R7 rubber wrapped around 18″ Apex wheels and a set of JRS RS Pro coilovers. Additional aero and weight-saving measures include Advanced Composite Products body panels, a carbon diffuser, an aggressive front splitter, a vented hood, and a surfboard of a rear wing also from ACP. Inside, it’s pretty traditional C6 fare, save the OMP quick-release steering wheel, deep-dish Sparco thrones with Teamtech five-point racing harnesses, and Chromoly roll bar. To top it all off, the refinished Supersonic Blue paint has been wrapped in protective film.

Since leaving Kentucky 12 years ago, the 40th of the 252 Carbon Editions has gone under the knife multiple times, suffered a couple of minor fires, and covered around 19,000 miles all in the name of becoming, on paper at least, one of the most impressive track ‘Vettes we’ve ever seen. What might be even more remarkable, though, is the fat stack of documentation, receipts, and photographic evidence that will be in the trunk of this ride when it arrives at its new home next week. The original window sticker is just the tip of the iceberg, as evidenced by HALF of the 355-pic-strong gallery featuring shots of paper! With three days to go, the bidding sits at $65,481, which – as long as they don’t live in California where this car is officially too uncouth for legal consumption – might be setting up an absolute steal for one of those desperate souls mentioned above, we’ll be rooting for them, and their thumbs!

  1. Unfortunately can’t register it where I live as it will not pass the annual emissions inspection.
