Corvettes for Sale: L89-Optioned 1969 Corvette Convertible on Corvette Forum

Back in the day, a 1969 Corvette convertible with the optional L89 engine would set you back $832.05, a significant chunk when you consider the base MSRP of the entire car was only $4,438.

History has proven that would have been a very wise investment, however. Witness this fully restored L89 that’s currently on the market on Corvette Forum for a whopping $193,800!

When it was new, the 427ci L89 V8 was rated at 435 horsepower and features triple two-barrel carburetors, chrome air cleaner lid, ignition cover, and valve covers. What sets it off from the very similar L71, however, are the aluminum heads.

This Riverside Gold convertible is said to be a true L89 car and earned an NCRS Top Flight award in 2015 after undergoing an extensive frame-off rotisserie restoration that’s documented in a book chocked full of photos, records, and receipts from all stages of the work. The owner also has the original NCRS-validated order sheet that was found behind the gauges and remains in excellent condition, along with the original owner’s manual.

“This car runs and drives great with very little miles on it since total frame-off restoration,” the seller says, calling it “an absolute blast to drive” as it “takes off like a rocket with its 435 horsepower.”

Sold new by Palmyra Motors Inc., in New York, this now-legendary Corvette looks great in its Riverside Gold paint with a contrasting black top and black vinyl interior. Features include M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, Positraction 4.11 ratio, N14 side-mounted exhaust, and original AM/FM radio.
