Holy procrastination, Batman!

The Bring a Trailer auction for this recreation of the iconic Batmobile from the popular 1960s TV show comes to an end this weekend, and we haven’t placed our bid yet!

So far, the bid has climbed to $62,777 for this replica created for the owner in 2021 with a 1992 Corvette serving as the donor chassis.

The Caped Crusader (or you, if you win the auction) will have plenty of Bat Juice to fight crime, thanks to a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine under the hood. Naturally, when you’re battling evil villains like the Penguin and the Riddler, you don’t have time to shift gears so this car has a 4L80 four-speed automatic transmission to make crimefighting easier.

But it’s obviously the black and red body of this car that attracts the most attention. It’s a faithful reproduction of the legendary car created by Hollywood customizer George Barris, though he used a 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car he had bought for $1 as the impetus for his Batmobile.

Who says it’s hard to get out of a C4 Corvette? This modified Chevy has solved that problem with twin Plexiglas open bubble canopies that make entry and exit a breeze, but it also has other cool additions like hooded headlight surrounds, batwing-style tail fins, emergency light, rear turbine-style vent, parachute bags, polished vertical stacks, and our favorite feature of all – a gas-fueled flame emitter at the rear that really works!

The interior looks equally cool, with two computer screens for controlling the Holley fuel injection system and the Power Acoustik infotainment system. You’ll also find black vinyl bucket seats with CROW multi-point shoulder harnesses, fire extinguisher with Bat logo, and fun prop items like a Bat Phone, Bat-Scope control panel, Bat-Ray protector, anti-theft activator, homing receiver scope, and emergency bat-turn lever mounted overhead.

If you think the bidding is a little high (we personally think it’s a deal considering you’ll have the coolest car, like forever), consider that Barris kept the original Batmobile from the TV show and sold it 10 years ago at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction for a whopping $4.62 million. Sure, this is a recreation, but it’s still guaranteed to be the talk of the town if you drive this through your hometown!
