Corvettes for Sale: LS2-Powered 1965 Corvette Restomod on BaT

The 1965 Corvette marked the debut of four-wheel disc brakes, but this nicely updated Sting Ray restomod takes advantage of many other technological advances since then.

For instance, it’s rolling on an Art Morrison chassis with a C5-style front and rear suspension and adjustable coilovers, along with a Hydroboost power brake system with C5-style calipers over drilled and slotted rotors.

But the most impressive update could be the 6.0-liter LS2 V8 engine from a C6, and this one features a black-painted intake manifold, dual snorkel air intake system, and tubular exhaust headers, along with an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Some might lament the lack of a manual transmission, but we like the 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission.

Now the owner is selling this nicely modified C2 on Bring a Trailer, where the current bid has risen to $65,000 with six days left.

The seller says the car is a 2018 build, but its black paint “looks as fresh as a newly restored car.”

“I have personally driven this car over 100 miles and 80 miles an hour and is absolutely a blast to drive,” he says in the listing comments section. “It is a fantastic build, super high-quality, using the best components. No regrets on this one at all.”

I’m not usually a fan of the triple taillight conversion, but this one really caught our eye. Another bright spot, in our opinion, is the “dipped” bright red interior that’s been nicely updated with modern AutoMeter gauges and C5-style leather bucket seats but doesn’t go over the top with radical changes the way some builds do.

Elsewhere, the car features power steering, chrome 18-inch C6-style wheels, Vintage Air climate control, push-button ignition, Flowmaster exhaust, and custom stereo.
