The first round of Z06 allocations have been produced, with 450 total cars completed prior to the Christmas break. With these Corvettes now built and delivered to their dealerships, we now have some examples of some of the 120 “dealer stock” orders that were placed during the first order cycle and are now available for sale on AutoTrader. These Corvettes are new from the dealer, so the buyer does receive the full warranty, but the market adjustments are pretty steep with the majority offered with a $100,000 greedy dealer fee added.

First up is a 3LZ Arctic White Corvette Z06 with the two-tone Blue interior. This is #290 and there are just 5 delivery miles on the car. Options include the black aluminum spider wheels with yellow brake calipers and the Level 2 carbon fiber interior trim package. The MSRP for the C8Z is $135,080 and Leman’s Chevy City of Bloomington, Illinois added an additional $100,000 market adjustment to make the total price $235,080.

Mike Molstead Motors of Charles City, IA is going the extra mile for their customers (according to the AutoTrader ad) and they will help anyone get behind the wheel of this 3LZ Amplify Orange Z06 with the Jet Black interior when you put down a 20% down payment which totals $48,994. The total price out the door is $244,970 which we believe includes a $100,000 market adjustment. Don’t ask them what the car looks like though, as they shared a pic of a Stingray Coupe on their listing.

Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet of Greenville, SC scored this Arctic White Z06 Convertible with the 3LZ Adrenaline Red dipped interior and its currently sitting in the dealer’s showroom with a price tag of $242,974. Options include the Black Spider Aluminum wheels with red brake calipers, bright exhaust tips, level 2 carbon fiber interior package, and a full body black racing stripe.

For those still hoping to score a ‘bargain’ Z06, Wilson Chevrolet of Stillwater, OK is offering this Hypersonic Gray Convertible with a market adjustment of $64,330 added to its $150,670 MSRP. Vin #338 doesn’t look to be in stock yet and we only have these website renders that incorrectly show the front dive planes on a non-Z07 aero package. This 2023 Z06 has an Adrenaline Red interior, bright spider wheels and Bluetooth according to the listing.

The way to fight back against greedy dealers and their obscene market adjustments is to not buy from them and let them know you will not be scheduling any service appointments for your other Chevy/GM products because of the market adjustments. However, we fear the lure of the car might just be too much and the fear of missing out could be a factor with buyers who can provide these dealers with the lavish lifestyle they are obviously choosing over their customer’s satisfaction and goodwill.

  1. Didn’t this happen with the C4 ZR1 when it came out? Seems to me I remember people asking double the MSRP and getting it, look what a C4 ZR1 is going for today @ Auction. Not a whole heck of a lot, just a tad over typical C4 prices. Just sayin………

  2. I wouldnt buy it for $100.00. After things cool off ,you’ll never get your money back !! Dont like mid engine !! The corvette tradition is front engine .C7 grand sport is best car !! I wont buy a new Vette unless front engine is back !!

  3. Personally I hope the dealers choke on the interest they are paying on these to sit in their showrooms!

  4. It’s a simple case of business ethics: you have it, or you don’t. Every time I read a story like this, I think of how much I hate going to a dealership to buy a car because I repeatedly feel the smiling sales guy’s hands in my pockets. Chevrolet itself should be acting against each of these dealers and shutting down their deliveries for a number of years. Unfortunately, there are several levels of co-dependents in this avarice.

  5. I thought GM was going to try to control this? Hope GM takes note and doesn’t send them another Z06. Honestly as good as the Z06 is there are a lot cars in that price range that are made much better, with better materials, fit and finish; Porsche, Mercedes AMG’s and BMW M’s just to name a few. If GM is allow this to happen buy from someone else. This why I am order a new Dodge RAM. My local Stealers are asking $50K mark up on their Z06’s, there are other options.

  6. The more I see the various Z06 vs. Stingray comparisons I don’t completely understand why I’d pay double or more for an Z06 over an equally optioned Stingray. I do appreciate the Z06’s exhaust note with its high-winding, flat-plane, 670 hp, LT6, but not enough to pay the ultra-high premium $$$. The Stingray’s excellent handling and deep throaty V8 remains very appealing to me.
Unless you’re a track nut or must have the latest and greatest Corvette, I believe the C8 Stingray remains an amazing sports car at a phenomenal price.
With the ERay and eventually ZR1 on the horizon, the Z06 will lose its current appeal and of course those that paid these ridiculous ADMs will be left losing tens of thousands. For some that might not be an issue, but for myself…I’ve worked too hard for too long just to burn cash.

  7. Amen to All Brothers. What you really gonna do with it—REALLY. Floor it lookin back to see if a Cop saw ya? Do track it or even know how? Doubtful. You gonna stupidly pay another $100K to be look at me cool for a day and a red light or two?? Idiots know a regular Stingray is not that far off- Still has your look at me Wiener extender look and ton o cash saved. Market soon gonna show you the FOOL you were.

  8. Don’t do it Corvette Nation, resist the temptation. Let these cars sit, after a few months the price will come down. Show the dealers who the boss is. The customer is still in control, if we ever lose that we’re all screwed.

  9. A fool and their money will soon part, 100k over MSRP I think you could get a C8 3LT loaded and then with after market goodies get over 670hp and still have money left over instead of paying 242,000.

  10. Money is the root of all …

Money can make a blind man …

Money makes the world go …

    For the love of …

There are people in this world that could spend this kind of money in the blink of an eye.

    It’s all about the moola.
but remember, “All men are created equal;”
    Yup.
When we die, that”s when, All are created equal, because.
We “All,” have to leave it, “All” behind. Everything!

  11. I hate the fact that GM allows this to happen as a few months ago they said they would stop Z06,EscaladeV and Hummer EV from mark up and flipping both. I guess the dealer agreements with dealers was straight forward (the cars belong to the dealer once shipped) Saying all of that we live in a country of supply and demand period. You gotta pay to play and there are 1000s that will! I love my 2020 C-8 Z51 2LT that I daily. It’s fast enough for me and so far the 10000 miles have been a hoot!

  12. FOMO works in reverse when the bubble pops. Look at the current real estate market. BTW, how’s your Bitcoin doing lately? Going back to $60k? How about $30k? Not anytime soon.

  13. And this keeps proving the point that all older Corvettes are the most loved and will be the price for most to own.

  14. Let’s see, we have on Z06 motor that crapped out at 52 miles (YES, 52 miles) – video is on YouTube.

We have several Z06’s that have failed DCT transmissions.

We have several Z06’s where the instrumentation display went haywire.

I would’t buy that car for MSRP…GM quality control is getting worse and worse

  15. Sense GM does not have the balls! To handle these dealers with there outrageous markups! Corvette owners new, current and future owners. Should unite and boycott all dealers. Not just from sales of new cars but also parts and service, stick it too them. Let the new Vette’s just sit in the show room. There are plenty of used Vette’s out there at great prices.

  16. I thought about the C8 .
Like the looks of the C7 better ,
Ending up getting the 2017 Z06 white with Z07 package Manual trans 7,000 miles ,

  17. I didn’t read all the comments so I might be repeating. If I was GM I would stop this by only taking customer orders with deposits down. I’m on Z06 list with 2186 before me with a high allocation dealer and won’t get the car for years so I’m told. So the Corvette division has all the orders they need. I was on the Stingray list for 18 months until I received my 23 in July.

  18. I’ve owned a 01 Z06 for 15 years. Car has a few mods. Had a 84 and an 05. I’m on the fence with the C8. Personally I don’t like the way it sounds. Dosnt have that classic American V8 roar. To lambo sounding for me. Not vette sounding. I know things change but it’s not for me. I would much rather have the 22 GT 500. That car is gorgeous in my opinion.

  19. Awesome, you’ll love the “17 Z06, if I recall they had the upgraded cooling system on the ’17. Although that really wasn’t a big deal on the manuals, mainly the automatics, due to the trans cooler. I have a “15 and really enjoy it. Just be careful on cold tires and in cold weather it will step out on you. Get out and enjoy it.

  20. I’ll never buy another GM product in this life or the next. They’ve destroyed America’s middle class sports car by making it only available to the super wealthy.

  21. Look st all the whiners. You think GM built these cars for you? Lol.. they know what their doing. They know ther filthy rich will throw money. They don’t care if you ever get one. You want it. Give up ther money. Not like dodge or Ford doesn’t do it.. lol stop crying

  22. I have owned Corvettes for 48 years, raced and enjoyed as my daily driver. Drove my 71 LT1 over 300000 miles with one engine rebuild. Presently have an 01 Z06 bought it new, with less than 70,000 miles on it today with Billy Boat exhaust and some other mods. Best Corvette I have ever owned and sounds way better than any of the new ones. Paid sticker price because the dealer would not do any discounts and almost did not buy because of the lack of a discount, but after I drove it I had to buy it it as I could not believe the difference from my 98 6 speed and I am happy I made the purchase. Know the technology in the newer ones exceeds my present Vette, but I am happy with my Z. The mid engine may be fine but no manual is a future deal killer for me. A Vette without a manual transmission is just not a sports car to me. What has happened to having to really drive a car, know when to shift and drive to your and the cars limit. Know I am old school, but if you pay $100k over MSRP, your an entitled idiot with more $ than common sense. Corvette owners should boycott any dealer that marks up the price like that, get GM involved and have the museum have it’s say so. But in today’s world it won’t happen as money and greed are now the norm. So much for my hand standing. Still love my Z and driving at speeds in the triple digits is amazing.

  23. I hate that body style I think Corvette’s trying to make it look like a Lamborghini are looks like a Ferrari or something I wouldn’t give you $100 for it

  24. From someone who owns a 2021 C8 3LT, and was looking forward to owning a Z06 I can not believe GM would let the dealers get away with the mark-up they are asking. The company ask for customer loyalty, I think that ship has sailed. What about company loyalty to its customers? I can not see paying over double what I paid for my C8, and I love my car.

  25. I drive a2003 zo6 and love it I wanted a 2023 zo6 but with the bullshit markup I think a pro charger on mine will just do me fine put a gear box in that thing and get real😑

  26. If GM had any balls, excuse me Mary, they start selling the Z06 direct from the manufacturer to the purchaser and skip the dealers on this one.
