[SPIED] Two C8 Corvette Prototypes Went Out for a Drive with the Silverado EVs

Our spy photographer in Detroit had another sighting of engineers driving the 2025 Corvette ZR1 on public streets, at least that’s what we think these SHOULD be. However, the rumored Zora model is also back in the news after another group of engineers driving C8 Corvette prototypes in Colorado were accompanied with what we believed to be the E-Ray. So the question on our mind has been if Corvette engineers are already driving the hybrid-powered Zora model?

Regarding these pics today, it looks like that Zora conversation is going to continue as the Corvettes were driving in a caravan that included three prototypes of the upcoming Silverado EV test trucks.

The five vehicles in the group consisted of two widebody C8 Prototype with one being a Coupe with the high wing aero and a Convertible with no wing. The high wign coupe was also spied in the previous photos as the license plates and writing on the camouflage are identical. Our spy photog says the trucks included a base LT or WT truck, along with two high-performance Silverado EV RST trucks.

So why were these two very different vehicles out for a test drive together? The answer could be as simple as a group of engineers who are cross-testing or reviewing upcoming Chevy vehicles, or could it be more about the batteries and electric motor propulsion systems found in the Silverado and rumored for the Zora. It wouldn’t be an apples to apples comparison as the Corvette Team has revealed that the E-Ray’s motor and batteries predate GM’s Ultium platform, and the function is different as the E-Ray’s battery chemistry is designed for rapid discharging/recharging for performance instead of maximizing range.
