Kudos to General Motors for handling a problematic C8 Corvette Stingray in the best way possible.

When Robert Drummond couldn’t get multiple issues on his hardtop convertible repaired after six months of trying, he filed a complaint with GM, saying the car was a lemon. The company investigated, agreed with his assessment, and offered to buy back the Stingray and replace it with any other current GM product of his choosing.

Drummond took them up on that offer and back in November successfully requested a 2023 3LZ Z06, even when all the “negative Nannies” on Facebook told him GM would never agree to that. “Just goes to show, don’t believe everything and everyone on the internet,” he posted.

On May 2, he took delivery of his Red Mist Metallic Z06, having to pay only the difference in the MSRP between the two vehicles. GM paid the tax, tag, and title for him.

While the ordeal has definitely been “a LONG process” for Drummond, the end result is a beautiful Z06 in his driveway.

  1. That’s a hell of a deal to get it and only pay the difference in MSRP between the two cars.

  2. Wow that is great story. That is one way to get a virtually unattainable Z06 at MSRP! GM certainly stepped up on this one!

  3. Now if GM could do something about those Dealers charging $50K and more above MSRP on C8’s that would help all of us. But suggestion – it’s an easy fix just stop sending them allocations.

  4. GM didn’t tell him he could have a z06. They told him that’s impossible.

I was the one who told him it’s the law that he can mandate they give him a z06, or any new GM vehicle for that matter, via his state lemon laws.

Article after article singing gm praises that aren’t even true.

Oh well, what else is new.
