For those of us who think our Corvette might self-destruct if we drive it more than 1,000 miles a year, here’s a reminder of the durability of Chevy’s legendary sports car.

GM Authority recently heard from a reader named Dan T., who’s president of a repair shop for Corvettes in Auburn, Washington.

Dan says his company named Corvettes of Auburn has had a faithful customer for the past two decades with a 1994 Corvette that’s now been driven 429,000 miles – and is still going strong.

In fact, owner Carol F. still drives her C4 Corvette to work every day, some 40 miles each way.

While the original paint on her Corvette may now be peeling, it still has the original LT1 V8 engine and automatic transmission, proving the value of regular maintenance. The engine has undergone seven OPTI sparks and countless oil changes, and the transmission has been rebuilt three times.

It’s always refreshing to see a Corvette owner who’s not afraid to use her car. Maybe you know of a Corvette in your area that’s clocked hundreds of thousands of miles.
