Corvettes for Sale: Two-Tone 1978 Corvette on Craigslist

Some 45 years after leaving the St. Louis factory, this 1978 Corvette – which marked the debut of the fastback styling that greatly increased rear storage space – has turned into a “headache-free” car after a recent refurbishment.

Or so says the owner.

Now this Corvette – one of a total of 46,776 units that helped mark the 25th anniversary of Chevy’s legendary sports car – is up for sale for $23,900 or best offer on Craigslist out of the Indio, California area east of Los Angeles.

The paint has been redone in a two-tone look, with a silver top and black bottom separated by a wide red stripe.

The seller claims the car is now “technically sound” after rebuilding the carburetor and installing all new electrics and brake rotors and pads. Additionally, the 350 engine has been “revised and serviced.” Meanwhile, for those hot California days, the air conditioning thankfully still blows “cool.”

Inside, new cloth has been installed on the door panels and seats, and the rest of the interior looks nice, with an aftermarket stereo added at some point.

All in all, it adds up to a “headache-free” car, as the seller puts it. Do you agree with his assessment?
