[VIDEO] Watch the RHD C8 Corvette Stingray Set an EVO Hot Lap

If you’ve been frustrated with Corvette production snags, parts shortages, ordering hang-ups, and the excessive demand that have come to define this generation, you aren’t alone. If you live in the Americas, you should also take a moment to count your blessings. Back in 2019, one of the highlights of the C8 introduction was the model’s first-ever offering of right-hand drive. Now that the calendar reads 2023, the RHD Stingray has finally been made widely available across the pond.

Our friends at Evo found it odd to call their Torch Red test car “new” as they had driven one pre-pandemic, but, at long last, they had one on their home turf, with the steering wheel on their preferred side of the cockpit. If you follow Evo from the new world, you know two things; they have a long-running relationship with the 1.55-mile Anglesey Circuit, so their “leaderboard” is a treasure trove of lap-time info, and these slide-happy Brits are FUN to watch behind the wheel!

If you can spare 5:28 of your day, give their full – and fully positive – Stingray review a watch today. While conditions on the picturesque road course weren’t ideal, and the presenter admits to it not being his tidiest effort, the C8 performs admirably away from its home turf. Even in the highly-optioned UK specification and accounting for tariffs, the base C8 continually stuns the English with its unmatched value proposition. We want you to get straight to watching, so we’ll stop beating around the bush and wrap up with the oh-so-British conclusion reached by today’s main character; “the regular C8 is certainly quick enough and certainly good enough to put the cat well and truly among the pigeons.” We’re only half-sure what that means, but it somehow puts the perfect bow on the Stingray. Enjoy the ride, Corvette Nation!

From EVO via YouTube:

Chevrolet ripped up its own rule book when it came to the new Corvette C8 Stingray. A bold new look, a new chassis with the V8 positioned in the middle of it and a mission to take on the world’s elite performance cars. So how quick is the new ‘Vette? Steve Sutcliffe headed to Anglesey Circuit with his skid lid and stopwatch to find out.

  1. EVO waited four years to land a car and hold and behold it turns out the only day available for a test it turns out to be wet and the car looking slightly contrite.
