This “truly one-of-a-kind” 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Custom “Novette” Wagon will be up for auction next weekend in Florida.
The car – which features the inner workings of a 1992 Corvette – will be auctioned by Premier Auction Group during their March 17-18 auction at Charlotte Harbor Event Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.
We love the look of this custom wagon and wouldn’t mind using it to haul a few items to the house from Home Depot, and based on the photos showing the rear compartment, there would be plenty of room!
The builder used a real 1955 Nomad as the starting point, then added various parts from a 1992 Corvette said to have been driven only 8,620 miles before the conversion.
Included is the Corvette’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 engine from the ’92, along with its ZF six-speed manual transmission, air bags, ABS brakes, and dash.
The exterior features a new three-stage white pearl exterior paint job accented with a chopped top and forward tilt hood.
The black Corvette interior includes custom leather seats with ’55 Novette inserts but retains several stock parts, including the AM/FM/Cassette/CD radio, air conditioning, tilt wheel, delay wipers, power locks, power windows, power seats, and power mirrors.
The car also has unique custom 5-double spoke chrome wheels on 18-inch speed rated tires.
All in all, we definitely think this is the way to go if you’re looking for an SUV that stands out in the crowd.
