[VIDEO] Using the Remote Start Button to Scare Away Spectators from Your C8 Corvette

Have you ever used the remote start to surprise those around your C8 Corvette? Here is a video that shows some unsuspecting people trying to get a selfie with a purple C8 Corvette and their reactions as the owner hits the remote start button.

I have seen some commentors say this video is staged, and that may be the case with some of them, but there were some genuinely surprised reactions to the car starting up. Perhaps the most disturbing side of this video is the utter lack of care that people show to property that isn’t theirs. In the words of retired Corvette quality manager Steve Grilli, “Don’t Lean on the Dream!”

I heard the new 2024 Mustang’s key fobs not only allow you to remote start the car, but you can rev it from the fob as well!

As Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles is a fan of the unsuspecting remote-start (he did it to a group of us after dinner one night at the Bash), let’s hope the “remote rev” function might actually come to fruition.

  1. Leaning on or touching someone else’s Corvette is never cool! I’m not so sure that scaring the shit out of them with remote start is very cool either.

  2. I hate when people touch my Corvette. Then when you ask them not to touch your car they are offended. I have a 2022 C8 Stingray, at a car cruise, a large girl sat on my hood for a photo while I wasn’t right there. I went over and asked her not to sit in my car or even touch it. She made a face at me. Then I had to wipe off and clean the residue left from the lotion on the legs.
