Chevrolet’s new 2023 Corvette Z06 will set the pace and lead NASCAR’s Cup Series racers to the green flag this Sunday, February 19 at 2:30 PM ET with the 65th running of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500.

The Corvette Z06 is armed with the Z07 performance package and wears the full visible carbon fiber aero package. The Elkhart Lake Blue Riptide Blue exterior is paired with a Black full body racing stripe with a gray outline, Black Spider aluminum wheels, and dark stealth crossed flags badges. Inside we see the Sky Cool Gray interior with Red seatbelts on what are most likely Competition Sport seats.

As for livery customization, the “Great American Race” decals are mounted on the doors with “OFFICIAL PACE CAR” under the logos. There is a faded gray graphic along the bottom that grows taller under the side scoops and then fades into what I bet are tiny cross flag logos.

The Z06 is powered by the 5.5L 670-hp LT6 that is the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 in any production car, and it will have no problem leading the field to the green flag. While we always want to see green flag racing, it will be the yellows flags that will have Corvette enthusiasts on the edge of their seats!

Also joining in the fun during the 2023 Daytona Speedweeks is a Chevy Silverado 1500 RST that will pace the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday evening. The Camaro SS 1LE will pace a trio of races starting with Thursday night’s Duals and will follow up with the ACRA Menard Series on Friday, and the NASCAR Xfinity series race on Saturday at 5:30 pm ET. The Corvette Z06 will take its place on the track at 2:30 PM on Sunday.

“We felt that it was important to highlight the crown jewel of our performance vehicle lineup for the 65th running of the Daytona 500 with the Corvette Z06,” said Todd Christensen, Director of Motorsports Marketing and Activation for Chevrolet. “As the winningest manufacturer in NASCAR Cup Series history, we are honored to pace the season-opening race weekend and help celebrate the start of NASCAR‘s 75th anniversary.”

This is the 15th time Chevrolet has paced the “Great American Race”.

  1. “OFFICE PACE CAR” ??? That doesn’t look like Elkhart Lake Blue to me either. It’s too light.

  2. It’s Riptide blue. Elkhart Lake Blue is not available on the Z06, in fact may be eliminated from the Corvette palate all together.
