Keeping the new Z06 content coming fast and frequently, YouTuber Emelia Hartford completes the installation of twin turbos on her new 2023 Corvette Z06 and gives us the opportunity to witness the car’s first start.
The system she is putting on the Z06 comes from her C8 Stingray, as she said she needed to take it off Phoenix to give it a refresher. When we saw how dirty the air filters were in front of the turbos, we can see why a refresh may be necessary.
While the system components under the rear facia appear to mount up to the same points, connecting it to the Z06’s engine did require the fabrication of new charge pipes as the Gemini LT6 has dual throttle bodies vs the LT2s single intake. When that’s connected, she explains that they will not be adding an intercooler as they won’t have that much boost, but a methanol system will be installed to help keep the air temps lower.
After that, the Z06’s rear fascia without the lower valance is put back on the car and we get the witness the first start-up, which was impressive to say the least. Emelia says maybe she’ll give it some baby revs which then of course turns into redline revs:
She says the next video up will be a first drive for the car. All the tracks in the area are closed until the new year, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for some times.
