Our favorite Queen of Speed is now a new Corvette owner! Emelia Hartford just took delivery of her new 2023 Corvette Z06 wearing VIN 028. In this new video, Emelia travels to Mount Joy, PA to pick up her car from Matt Beaver at Whitmoyer Chevrolet.

This is a fun video on so many levels. She is very enthusiastic about the new Corvette as she shared some of the previous footage of her appearing in Chevrolet’s “Putting the World on Notice” reveal film.

It’s fun watching her “unbox” the $152,000 sports car to reveal the Amplify Orange exterior. While she went with the full visible carbon fiber aero package, she skipped the carbon fiber wheels for the new Spider aluminum wheels. We also love the 3LZ Sky Cool Gray Interior on GT2 seats and the interior Visible Carbon Fiber Level 2 Trim. The color combo is reminiscent of her C8 Stingray Pheonix, and she says she plans to add white stripes to the car as well.

As she gets into the car and prepares to drive off, she recounts a phone call she got from General Motors, who reminded her that the break-in period for the car is 500 miles for general driving and 1,500 miles before track use. “Emelia, we RECOMMEND 1,500 miles for the track use, so please don’t do donuts or do any high RPM redlining until 1,500 miles,” said the GM rep, to which Emelia gave her promise to wait until then.

Just nine miles were showing on the odometer as she began her drive back to LA, and her first stop was planned for Dayton, Ohio, which is 464 miles away. Follow along with Emelia as she starts her cross-country drive in the new 2023 Corvette Z06:

  1. Just what is the added value for GM to launch the Z06 with these numerous YT influencers? There’s more people on Z06 waitlists than Chevrolet will be able to produce for years. For a company that claims this is a world class sports car, they need to act like it themselves. These influencers are irritating at best…and some have proven they don’t care what the optics are for Chevrolet…it’s all about their subs and likes. Just how many 25-35 year olds can afford a $170k sports car? That seems to be the targeted demographics here… GM you’ve disappointed a number of your loyal customers with the continued ordering and allocation missteps.…which translates that while Chevrolet may have a kick ass sports car….they’re not ready to be a World Class company, that is… when it comes to taking care of their customers. Prove me wrong.

However, I assumed that Emelia would certainly get an opportunity to get an early Z06 with her well publicized record holding Stingray that got lots of attention and presumably generated interest in the C8 Corvette. Speed Phenom is providing a lot of attention as he puts his new Z06 through a lot of “paces” and it all seems favorable. Stradman seems like a big entitled kid who is not all that into the car and has nicer stuff but why not add another to the collection. My guess is that he will let it go at a profit sometime after the 6 months. Bottom line however, the 1000’s on deposit lists don’t need convincing and more advertising is not necessary, they want the car, they know it is great. How many people, with sizeable deposits in many cases, will never get one before GM has to drop the C8 and move along to the EV C9 under the thumb of the US government? Many of you better consider an E-Ray as that Z06 may never happen for you. I am possibly one of those, and don’t see that claimed 55%, who dropped interest in the Z06 over prices, moving me up significantly on the list.

  6. rt has some very good points and if I may add…. If you want a Eray or a ZR1, in the C8 model you are probably already to late. Thik 5 – 10 yrs out. Life has taught me, people with extra money have an advantage over those on tighter budgets. I say that bc putting the deposits down at multiple dealers can get pricy, thus the extra money. That being said , the C8 StingRay is a great car with more power and suspension than most of us can manage and the exrta $100K for something, even less of us could harness and use,,,,well duh huh, it don’t make good sense,,,,so-I’ll Just keep on smilin an suffering in that C8 StingRay, baby..

  7. I think that a lot of us real Corvette owners and enthusiasts are sick of seeing shit about her and all the others just like her. Yeah I’m talking to you Stradman, Speed Phenom, Street Speed 717 etc. etc.

Robert, John B., you guys nailed it, every time I see these spoiled Y.T brats, it just makes my blood boil, i am getting older (mid-60’s) and would like to get a C-8, I don’t need a Z-06, too much horsepower, besides I couldn’t afford one, i plan on selling my 63 convertible in a few years so I can get a good down payment on my new dream car. I lost any bit of respect for her when I saw that video of her going down the track in the Buick grand national, that was a standard, she had no clue on how to slam gears, which is what you do on a drag strip, enough of this going GA,GA over these spoiled rich kids. I can’t even bring myself to even watch any of them anymore.

  11. I agree with every comment about these rich spoiled brats who seem to jump the quew in getting a Z06 when they have already enjoyed the C8 while many of us are still waiting for our first C8. GM discusses me by pandering to these kids. If Ford were also making the C8 I would prefer to buy from them.

    Howabout doing a piece on one of your everyday, working class, blue collar readers who took delivery of their C8 after an absurdly long wait?

    Enough with the YT’ers, okay. I get that you need a good hit count, but the fact that Chevrolet feels the need to reward their ‘talents’ by front loading them just show how out of touch they are with actual demand. Enough.

    For the record, I am 44, risked life & limb for Country & Corps for 21 years, and despite Chevrolet’s original ideation of this car being for younger GI types way back when, I still had to wait just like everyone else (except celebrities & influencers), taking delivery of ’23 #548 in June. Eleven months to be exact, and to what I gather, I lucked out!

    What’s crazy is that I personally know others who ordered before me back in mid 2021…and are still waiting…

  18. Is that a new Cacti C8 in the background when Emelia is “unboxing” her Z06? If so, I thought Cacti was supposed to be a new colour for 2024, so why would a Cacti C8 already be sitting at a dealership?
