Today is the start of the 2023 Z06’s second order cycle or DOSP (Dealer Order Submission Process) with the order banks opened for America’s newest supercar. We were also supposed to get Z06 constraints first thing this morning, and that’s where things are going sideways with today’s action.

There was a constraint report that went out this morning, and it literally made no sense to us. It shows the CFV/CFZ Ground Effects with ZERO availability nationwide. These are the front splitter and side rocker panels that are required for the Z06. However, everything that we have been told is that it’s the T0F/T0G Aero Packages with the Z07 High Wing that would cause order issues. We also didn’t understand why the Target Production Period shows the week of the assembly plant’s Christmas vacation:

Constraint Report

After the order banks opened up this morning, we also started receiving reports of dealers being able to submit Z06 orders with the Z07 package. That sounds like great news, right? As we began working the phones to see what was happening, one of our trusted contacts said not so fast. The aero packages are still highly constrained and we were told the constraint report that went out first thing this morning was indeed incorrect. Any of those dealers who did submit a Z07 order this morning will most likely have it kicked back to them once they sort everything out.

Right now, we appear to be in a holding pattern as we haven’t yet seen a new Constraints report issued to dealers, so we’ll update this story as we receive any further updates.

FYI, unless your dealer has called you, don’t bother them during this very busy day. If they have an allocation that matches your order, they will call you.

Update
Chevrolet sent out a new memo to dealers late this afternoon over today’s Z06 order situation. It confirmed that the T0G/T0F Aero Packages are 100% constrained along with the CFV/CFZ ground effects with zero availability nationwide. Any dealers that were able to submit an order with Z07s will have to replace it with a standard car.

  1. So how many Z 06’s have been made for real customers ? i don’t mean driving schools and Saudi Arabia.

  2. The first and second Z06 order cycles have not gone smoothly at all, leaving many dealerships and their customers scratching their craniums. Millions have been spent by Chevrolet on Z06 advertising and presentations, only to have internal miscommunications lead to errors in the ordering and allocation process… I really hope GM can get in front of this and we as customers can place our Z06 orders with confidence. This process should be a memorable experience, not one filled with doubt and anxiety. Chevrolet, you can do better…and like myself and many others we know you can. 👍🏼😉

  3. My god, GM is making a mess of all this. Ridiculous. Is this your first attempt at building cars GM???? Quickly becoming a joke, and a bad one at that.

  4. To alleviate all this nonsense Chevrolet should just go ahead and build the Z07 cars and deliver them to their customers & then when the required ground effects become available send them to the respective dealerships to be installed by the dealership. Of course this would require some “Common Sense” which Chevrolet is sorely lacking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
