Corvette Assembly Plant Suffers Partial Shutdown This Week Over Parts Supplies

We heard through the grapevine that the Corvette Assembly Plant was forced to stop production mid-week due to a parts supply issue.

Our sources say that production was halted during the 2nd shift on Tuesday. That work stoppage bled over into Wednesday with both shifts being down, and the closure was extended to Thursday’s 1st shift. Our understanding is that workers have been told to report for Thursday’s 2nd Shift.

We reached out to our contacts at GM for confirmation, and they have yet to get back to us regarding the closure. Any updates will be posted here.

  1. Again!!!!???? Stop selling the car you can’t seem to make enough of in China and Australia, and get some new friggen suppliers for christ sake!! Come on GM, get your shit together already.

  2. No surprise here. BTW the SUV will be made at another plant. Maybe in China where they make Buicks

  3. Tough times for automobile manufacturers and their suppliers. Glad that the SUV will be made in China to distance it from the REAL Corvettes.
