On Friday afternoon, members of the Chevrolet Corvette Team offered up this walk-around seminar featuring the 2023 Corvette Z06 with the 70th Anniversary Package. Presenting the seminar was Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles, Vehicle Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder and Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion.
Tadge opened the conversation by thanking everyone for coming, saying it’s been a few years since he stood before the assembled crowd at the Carlisle Fairgrounds grandstand. Tadge says the challenging manufacturing environment is something they are dealing with.
“Integrated circuits get the headlines on the part shortages, but it goes way, way deeper than that. It is so hard to get a lot of the basic things that you need to build a car, and corvette has a lot of boutique suppliers, smaller companies…so they are also impacted by the ramifications of supply shortfalls and the pipeline going dry is astonishing really to see.”
Later in the seminar, Tadge talks about the purpose of the Z06, saying it’s specifically designed for tracking. He reconfirms the 2.6 0-60 MPH that the car is capable and he reveals the top speed of the car with the aero package (high wing/canards) is capable of a top speed of 195 MPH. That’s 11 mph faster than the Stingray Z51 and we expect the Z06 to easily top 200 MPH with the base aero package. (195 mph is the top speed for the car in base trim. Update here)
The other team members’ discussions were equally informative and entertaining. Harlan goes through the latest news, awards, and stats. Josh talked about the durability testing of the cars with 24-hour high-speed validation tests, and Kirk gives us an overview of how the body of the Z06 differs from the Stingray.

Why did they call it a walk around? All they did is stand there and talked about it.
More like “GM’s sadistic game of ‘Corvette Z06 Customer Keep Away’ escalates at Carlisle”.
What is the Weight of the 2023 Corvette ZO6 how much does the new car weigh ???
I was at Carlisle and was very impressed with the GM product display and the chance to see the new 2023 C8’s and the exclusive Z06. They had a ton of cars and gave away a very nice Corvette poster! This “Walk Around” was lacking in new information and detail. It’s almost like they are being very protective of what they want to share to the public!
