1981 Corvettes were a special year because it was the first year Corvettes were ever produced in two factories at one time. The new Bowling Green, Kentucky plant produced its first Corvette on June 1,1981 while the St. Louis plant was producing its last Corvettes.

This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette features a super color combination with a Graphite Grey exterior paint and a graphite interior.

The 1981 Corvette had only one powerplant available, a 350 cubic inch engine that produced 190 horsepower and was now designated the L81. This engine has the 3-speed automatic transmission and the Rochester Quadrajet Carb on it and looks absolutely stock as well as the engine compartment.

It has the factory correct chrome air cleaner lid and cast magnesium valve covers dressing the engine and stainless steel exhaust manifolds, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes with dual hydraulic circuits and brake warning light, computer control system, as well as an auxiliary electric engine cooling fan and rides on performance raised white letter Mastercraft Avenger GT Raised White Letter tires.

The Graphite leather bucket seat interior is great with its matching carpeting, dash, side panels, and console and really compliments off the exterior graphite paint. It features an adjustable driver’s seat, a center instrument panel full of factory gauges, power windows with console-mounted controls, Kenwood AM/FM stereo radio with dual front speakers and fixed mast antenna, air conditioning heater and defroster with 3-speed blower, 7000-RPM tach, Quartz analog clock, illuminated visor mirror for passenger, tinted glass for all windows, electric rear window defogger, removable glass roof panels with solar screening, and a power door lock system.

The Graphite exterior paint looks great with the cast aluminum wheels, a rear factory spoiler, power remote outside mirrors, and the final legacy of the 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, the first US production car to feature T-tops.

C3 Corvettes are becoming very popular now with the movement to go retro back in the Corvette collector hobby.
