Car salesmen in Georgia might want to put up a photo of a Meriwether County man who apparently wants to have a Corvette, even if he’s not paying for it.
We first told you a couple of weeks ago about the Greenville, Georgia teenager involved in a bizarre car theft. Now there’s even more to the story.
Police say 19-year-old Nickloas Jermaine Render Jr., asked to take a Velocity Yellow Tintcoat 2015 Corvette on a test drive at ALM Newnan used car dealership in Coweta County on June 27.
The salesman riding in the car, Robert Edens, says it was just a typical test drive until Render said he wanted to find out what riding in the passenger seat was like. When Edens got out of the car to comply with the request, Render allegedly took off with the Corvette.
Fortunately, it’s not hard to spot a bright yellow Stingray, and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department soon spotted the vehicle on the highway and pulled Render over.
He didn’t want to get out of the car to start with, but a lawman finally convinced him.
Now Render’s brief joy ride has left him facing three charges – auto theft, obstruction of an officer, and simple assault, police said.
But that’s not the end of this tale.
The latest twist is that Fox5 News in Atlanta says it has just learned that Render is also a suspect in a similar test-drive theft of a Corvette in Union City in Fulton County. Maybe someone needs to explain to this young man how the process of car buying works.

Maybe some consequences would help drive the point home, but there doesn’t seem to be much of that happening these days. Hence the repeat offenders.

Not surprised when I saw the mug shot.
This makes me sad more than anything else. There is an enormous gap in income and hope in the US right now. But, people need to understand that the answer to that is just plain hard work, devotion to a goal, good family structure and a respect for authorities and your creator.
I wish him the best and hope he can see himself to a greater good someday.
I wasn’t surprised either, and yes some jail time would slow this. If I stole $50k from someone I’ll bet i would end up in jail with the keys thrown away. Wake up America or we will never be safe again!!
