Corvettes for Sale: 1968 Corvette with a NOM 454 Offered on Craigslist

This 1968 Corvette convertible needs a new owner to push it across the finish line.

After sitting for two years because the previous owner had suffered an injury, this Stingray found a new home as part of a package deal.

“We were led to believe it was a running, driving car but needed new gas, etc.,” says the current owner, who’s now ready to move on and is offering it for $23,950 on Craigslist.com.

After replacing the intake and carburetor and doing some brake work, among other work, to get the car running again, they looked more closely and noticed oil in the radiator.

“That’s where we stopped,” the seller says. “If it doesn’t sell, we will fix it.”

However, with several projects in the works already, they’re hoping someone else will be willing to take on the task of restoring this convertible, one of 18,630 built during the first year of the C3 generation.

The car left the St. Louis factory with a 427 under the hood, but it was replaced “years ago” with a 454, the powerplant now said to need further repairs. No word on the condition of the automatic transmission hooked to it.

The blue paint appears to be good from 10 or 15 feet, while the black interior is showing signs of wear and tear after 54 years on the road, with a split in the driver’s seat bottom the most noticeable deficiency.

If you’re the trading sort, interestingly enough, the seller says he’ll take MOPAR trades only – cars like a ’68-70 Charger or ’70-71 Cuda, Superbee, GTX, Roadrunner, etc.

Are you up for the challenge?
