If you watched the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Saturday, you know that Corvette Racing and the No.3 C8.R was running first in class but had to give up the lead to serve a drive-thru penalty after an incident in pit lane. During a tire change, one of the wheel locking nuts got away from the team and it would get caught up in the no.9 Porsche, damaging their radiator and knocking them out of the race.
Now, thanks to Jordan Taylor’s always-entertaining alter-ego Rodney Sandstorm, we now know it was actually Rodney that caused the incident as he was practicing a trick bowling shot. Here’s the video explaining exactly what happened on Saturday:
Rodney’s bowling trick shot got a little out of hand on Saturday. Sorry to the Pfaff guys. #RodneySandstorm pic.twitter.com/XvZtXLEjDH

The video of the C8.Rs wheel nut flying into the 911’s radiator was real and not Rodney using CGI on his lucky nut. You can read more of that “fluke of an accident” at sportscar365.com

What rotten luck, really sucks. Corvette Racing was on the way to back to back wins & had to settle for 3rd place. Even after IMSA’s bs BoP penalties the C8R Corvette was the quickest car on the track. Better luck for the rest of the season, Corvette Racing.
Had to “settle for 3rd place”? The rotten luck and a real shame for Pfaff, but not Corvette Racing, sorry.
