Each year at Bloomington Gold, their annual Gold Collection salutes a unique group of special Corvettes. Earlier themes have included fuel injection, Callaway, Benchmark winners, L88’s, and more.

For 2026, they went a slightly different route to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday. To mark our country’s upcoming milestone, the 2026 Gold Collection celebrated red, white, and blue Corvettes.

Like all Gold Collections, the highly curated, invitational-only gathering assembled some of the best and rarest Corvettes out there. The #49 Greenwood L88 racer anchored the collection. The well-known C3 was shown alongside a race prepped and working L88 engine stand in matching livery. Saturday morning, the screaming engine was pulled outside and fired up. L88 thunder filled the entire World Wide Technology Speedway area in a loud salute to America in front of a throng of eager onlookers.

Other cars included the first known 1968 T-top finished in blue, the earliest known 1963 wearing red paint, and a 1963 Z06 in Ermine White. A 5,000-mile L88 convertible and the red/red 1967 L88 coupe were parked side by side while a blue over red interior 1968 looked on. Rounding out the indoor portion of the Gold Collection were a stunning blue/blue 1966 big block coupe, a red L89 coupe, the 1967 L88 Lemans racer, and Austin Powers’ Sting Ray while the famous 1970 Star Spangled Corvette looked on from the center of the room.

The Gold Collection had so much patriotism this year that it spilled outside of its traditional indoor setting. Just outside the doors and adjacent to the Certification cars you’d find a 900-mile 1990 Torch Red ZR1, a striking blue C8 Z06, and a 1-of-1 red 2019 ZR1 coupe.

So, how’s that for a Corvette flavored salute to America? Once again Bloomington’s Gold Collection brought together a very special group of Corvettes sharing a common theme. The 2026 red, white, and blue gallery was a perfect lead into our nation’s birthday next month. What’s more American than red, white and blue Corvettes?
