Remove Damaging Paint Contaminates with GTECHNIQ's W6 Iron Fallout Remover

One of the main detailing issues for Corvette owners is dealing with all the brake dust and iron fallout that can mar your alloy wheels as well as the painted exterior of your car. Iron fallout are hot metal fragments from your brake pad linings and rotors and they can become embedded into the paint making removal without damaging the clear coat or ceramic coating even harder. Thankfully, our friends at GTECHNIQ has just the solution to remove iron fallout without damaging your paint or ceramic coating. It’s called W6 Iron & General Fallout Remover.

GTECHNIQ’s W6 Iron & General Fallout Remover is powerful enough to spray on your Corvette’s painted exterior and wheels to easily dissolve fallout and brake dust and best of all it’s formulated to not damage any other GTECHNIQ sealants, waxes, or other coatings you may already have protecting your car. It’s actually two products in one: While it’s removing iron fallout and other embedded paint contaminates, it also adds a corrosion inhibitor and additive designed to combat the effects of acid rain.

The W6 Fallout Remover was specially created in the lab and it will do most of the hard work for you. W6 is a thick, gel-like formula that will cling to your vehicle’s wheels and vertical surfaces and you will actually see any ferrous iron particles it comes into contact with turn purple. You only need to let the product dwell on your Corvette surface for 3-5 minutes before removal. GTECHNIQ cautions against using the product in the sun or allowing it to dry completely.

And since GTECHNIQ’s W6 is an iron fallout remover, it eats brake dust and is also great for cleaning your calipers!

GTECHNIQ was founded over 20 years ago by a quantum physicist named Drew Gill who was unhappy with the available automotive paint protection at the time. Applying his scientific training and research into creating a paint protection formula that works at the molecular level, the first GTECHNIQ product, C1 Crystal Lacquer, was released in 2004. Since then, GTECHNIQ has applied their scientific know-how for other addressing specific issues with automotive paint such as the W6 Iron Fallout Remover.

W6 Iron and General Fallout Remover is available in three sizes and we can appreciate that GTECHNIQ offers it on their online store starting at $9.95 for a 250-ml bottle so you can effectively try out the product first without having to spend a lot. It’s also available in 500 ml and 5-liter bulk packages as well.

  1. This stuff is expensive, $9.95 for a 8oz bottle.
I have used Dawn for years, and now their powerwash dish spray bottle, which sells for under $5 for 16oz.
Your choice; just pour a little Dawn full strength into your wash bucket after washing your car and brush your wheels clean. Or purchase the powerwash spray, which you can then refill using about 1/4 full strength Dawn and fill the rest with water, shake very well to dilute, and their you have it.
Dawn is a great product for a lot of different and difficult washing uses.
Don’t use it as a car wash, however, as it will remove your wax job.
