[SPIED] 2023 70th Anniversary Stingray Wheels and Black Exhaust Tips Revealed on Transporter

When ordering opens for the 2023 models later this month, enthusiasts will be able to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Corvette with a special anniversary package available on the Stingray and Z06. Chevrolet has already shown us the Z06’s 70th Anniversary Edition as part of its reveal and the Stingray was promised to have its own special wheel design for its version.

Thanks to a member of the C8 Corvette Owners Facebook page, we now get our first look!

The 70th Anniversary Stingray wheel is forged aluminum and is only offered in Black with the Edge Red line around the rim. Looking closer at it, the wheel has the same underlying design as the Z06’s Spider wheels, but with an extra design element that overlays the “tuning forks” as we called them. You can see them here:

The 70th Anniversary wheel will be exclusive to the package, but a recent leak of the 2023 ordering system shows the wheel may be offered in two other finishes with our guesses being Black and then either Polished or Machined-Faced.

The 70th Anniversary Edition will offer for the first time ever on a production Corvette a White Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat along with a Carbon Flash Metallic Black returning for the first time since the 2012 Centennial Editions. The anniversary package is further optioned with optional stripes, Edge Red calipers, and 70th Anniversary badging on the doors as well as on the cross flag emblems.

Also coming to all 2023 Stingrays are black exhaust tips which this car also has:

No word on where the transporter was spied, but as these are specific 2023 wheels for the Anniversary Edition, it’s likely a preproduction model for display/show that is headed to Detroit. We are still waiting to see if they are building saleable VINs, something we have yet to see on any 2023 Z06 captured in the wild.

As for ordering a new 70th Anniversary Edition, the 2023 Corvette Order Guide is expected to drop on March 21st with the first pre-orders going in on March 24th. The first official orders begin March 31st as dealers learn their allocations for the first cycle. The real question is when will pricing be announced as it’s now time that buyers know exactly what to expect.

Update
I went back and was reading through the comments and see Jason has expanded on what he had seen. He says the cars were on the way to Milford and they were VINs 001, 002, 003, and 004 with two painted Carbon Flash Metallic and two in the White Pearl. If you look at the photos you see at 3-o’clock there is a tear on the cover revealing black paint underneath. He says two or three were on the lower level allowing him to see the window stickers which said “2023 Stingray”. If those VINs are correct then these four would likely be 2023 pre-production saleable units destined for car shows and other promotional appearances.

  1. IMO the 70th Anniversary wheels are just plain ugly and weird looking. You would think the Corvette designers could do better than that.

  2. Yes these wheels are underwhelming. I think I would skip the 70th anniversary package all together.

  3. Ya’ know, these new “Vettes are really nice in their BASIC FORM.
But every time they bring out accessories / add-ons they get more and more and more OVER DESIGNED!!
Stripes going every where, confusing wheels, flares, huge fins and spoilers, pastry shop colors.
I am one who prefers emphasizing the de – content of something that is already so basically well designed.

  4. How about building the Z 06 or at least giving the 10,000 of us who have put down deposits a sticker price? Or are we waiting to cover Bidens 15% inflation?

  5. I’m not a big fan fan of “busy” wheels…these are plenty busy. C8 wheels are simply uninspiring to me. It’s been a while since Corvette had a wheel that was beautiful for its simplicity (Ferrari).
