A few years ago, I wrote a post asking why are songs about Corvettes so bad these days after watching some horrible rapper on YouTube trying his best and failing. Here’s a bit of what I said back then:
Maybe we were spoiled or perhaps it’s a generational thing. The Beach Boys were great at writing songs about Corvettes as well as Jan and Dean. George Jones also did the double entendre with his “Corvette Song” and a decade ago, David Ball’s “Private Malone” would give me goosebumps when listening to the story of a soldier who went to Vietnam and never came home, leaving a Sting Ray in the barn while his mother grieved.
So today I am doing my daily crawl through YouTube and came across the freshly posted country song called “She Loved Me Until She Rode in Your Corvette,” sung by Chad H. Nelson.
George Jones would be very proud! Check out this section of lyrics as written by Stephen A. Fowler.
…but then you took her for a spin
that she could not forget
aw, she loved me
’till she rode in your Corvette

It would be a better piece as an instrumental.
That sucks! I stopped it after hearing all I could stand and couldn’t stand anymore.
