If you’re like us, you’re worried about a future filled with electric vehicles that don’t make a peep as they quietly roll down the road.

But lately we’ve been feeling better after reading about upcoming electric crate engines from Chevrolet and other companies that will be able to transform our beloved gasoline classics and keep them useful in a changing world.

That brave new world is apparently already here for a YouTuber named Rich Rebuilds, which has just released the first episode of a series detailing how they are electrifying a 40th Anniversary 1993 Corvette they picked up on Facebook Marketplace.

It’s a humorous look at their attempt to turn a ragtag C4 Corvette into a car that’s relevant for today’s world, and so far their efforts have been one giant endorsement of Murphy’s Law.

So far, their Ruby Red over Ruby Red Corvette has broken down several times, the first time just minutes after leaving the house where they bought it and the last time (for now anyway) along a busy freeway where they literally risked their lives in the emergency lane trying to load the car onto a rollback at night.

We don’t know how the conversion will turn out – details should hopefully be coming in a future episode – but it seems likely that Rich Rebuilds will do it for not very much money as they’re striving to keep it budget-friendly and hope to use some of the stashed parts they already have.

While we would definitely miss the sweet sounds of a honest-to-goodness rumbling gasoline-power V8 engine, it’s good to know that future generations will have an electrifying option to convert old classics for a new age, if they want to.
