When it comes to learning the price of the new 2023 Corvette Z06, patience is a virtue. It’s been our opinion since the October 26th reveal that Chevrolet won’t announce the starting price of America’s newest supercar before the start of 2022 at the earliest.

But that doesn’t mean people won’t say what they think it’s going to be. We all have opinions and guesstimates on the Z06’s pricing, and it’s fun to engage our friends and others in conversations on what they think the price will be.

However, it’s also our opinion that using words such as “Confirmed” and “Z06 Pricing” in the title of a youtube video at this juncture won’t help the crazy situation that we find with the Z06 market which we think is already oversold for at least the inaugural model year and probably even longer.

Our friend Justin at the Horsepower Obsessed YouTube channel is claiming that two different dealership reps have provided the same answer as to the starting price of the 2023 Corvette Z06 and that the car will start at $87,000.

That may be factual, but we also remember the guy on the Corvette Forum who was ripped for saying the base starting price of the C8 Corvette Stingray was “$169,900 CONFIRMED” or the dealer rep in Florida who made news in January this year “confirming” the C8 Z06 would be revealed in July. He was close, but alas…wrong.

Other than saying the “confirmed” word in the title, I do believe Justin is on the right path by looking at the previous models and options and trying to determine pricing from there. Others have also done this and we previously shared the Brink of Speed video where Mike used the 2019 Z06 pricing configurator to guesstimate the price of the 2023 Corvette Z06.

We also agree with Justin when he says that the one thing that could cause Z06 pricing to change from its previous formula is the impact from inflation which is currently out of control and shows no signs of letting up soon. With the cost of materials at an all-time high, we’ll have to see if GM once again goes for a lower price point in the Z06’s first year of production before raising prices as they have also done previously, or if the cost of to build the car will force them to raise prices from the get-go. Take a watch and see what you think:

I actually think that $87,000 would be a great place to start pricing for the C8 based on the historical precedent of the C7 Stingray/Z06 pricing differences. My personal price guess is $88,995 while I have also heard from others who have stated that there is no way the price of a midengine Corvette with a bespoke flat-plane crank engine and a DCT transmission comes in at under $90,000. It’s all speculation and should be treated as such until that Chevy press release end up in my mailbox. That’s when pricing will be confirmed.

  1. GM Who cares you took the middle class worker out of the equation . We all know you will sell lots of them , just remember the rest you would have and should have sold .

  2. GM will not be able to produce enough at any price. The Stingray is afforable at it’s base price for a big chunk of middle class Americans.

  3. Is the C-8 ZO6 supposed to be affordable to the masses, I think not? Corvette has not forgotten the American buyer the C-8 Stingray is amazingly priced and is available to to the middle income buyers. Where’s the rule that says the ZO6 should be priced likewise? For the tech that is packed into it 100K would be a bargain price.
