We got some new photos of America’s newest supercar as our favorite agent provocateur “Corvette_Nut” managed to snag these photos of a standard Torch Red 2023 Corvette Z06 in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
The photos were posted to CorvetteForum.com and it’s the first time we have seen the popular combination of a Torch Red exterior color and the Black spider forged aluminum wheels on the new Z06. I like that exotic look and it sure doesn’t disappoint!
The Z06 does appear to be missing its rear spoiler which leads to speculation that this was a former camo car. There are also no exterior badges installed on the car either.
But what is installed is a Captured Test Fleet (CTF) sticker on the driver-side windshield so we know the car was born in Bowling Green and its being driven by a GM employee in Michigan. The real question is whether or not these are still EX-VIN cars or if they have progressed to building saleable pre-production cars yet. If you come across a Z06 in the wild, a pic of the VIN will answer that question.
The front of the car is very unique and I pointed this out during my walk-around video with Brink of Speed that the standard C8 Corvette Z06s show a body color front splitter on the car which makes them look more for the street than the track, and it’s a nice change over previous chin spoilerd that were only available in Carbon Flash Metallic.
As my eye wandered back to the straight-on side-shot of the Z06, I am now wondering if those wheels are the satin graphite versions and not the glossy black wheels. Either way, they go very well with the Torch Red exterior.
What are your thoughts now that you’ve seen a Z06 in Torch Red? Is that your go-to color? Let us know in the comments below.

Any color works for me – I’m not picky.
To me, the all black wheels do nothing for the car. It looks like there’s a big black hole at both ends. It reminds me of years gone by of a car that lost it’s hub caps. Ugly.
Not bad at all; I am more of a fan of this red than I am the darker Mist Red..but that is just me. Looking forward to seeing an Arctic White; it looks really good on the visualizer.
By far, my favorite color for the Z06 that I have seen yet!
Accelerate Yellow is my go too color, that’s the color of my C8 and I’m loving it. Loud & Proud. This yellow does not show the dirt, been driving it for more than a month without a bath and it still looks clean at a glance. My 2 ⍧ ?
I hate black wheels.
The comments by C8Ron are right on the mark in all respects!! In addition Accelerate Yellow really makes the car “POP” which is what a color should do for any car!!!!! OH & did I mention a Z06 in particular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you think Chevrolet had the signature Z06 / Z07 in Accelerate Yellow at the introduction ceremony. Their no dummies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chrome Wheels, bright shiny Chrome. Chrome, Chrome, Chrome. They will never go out-of-style.
Black wheels makes it look like a Taxi. Chrome till death.
