Corvettes for Sale: Customized 1965 Corvette Coupe with a Funky Face

Apparently, the seller of this customized 1965 Corvette Coupe listed for sale on eBay Motors is a man of few words when it comes to describing the car he is selling on behalf of his elderly father.

We note from the description that it’s a custom build with a 327/300-hp engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has been owned for five and half years and driven mostly on the weekends. That’s about it.

There’s actually a lot we like about this Corvette as it features a flared body and duckbill spoiler while the painted exterior looks straight out of the Seventies-era customizing craze. The ’65 also comes with six tail lights spaced across the rear and we are not totally turned off by the squared exhaust replacing the traditional round exhaust tips only because that’s an easy fix.

But then we get to the front of the car and it becomes harder to grasp what the builder was going for here. We do appreciate the updated headlights which will surely light up the road better than the stock T3 bulbs on C2s, but what is up with that tiny grille opening that resembles a first-gen Mazda Miata. One of the comments on the Corvette Forum where we found the car said it reminds him of the animated Cars movies.

Under the hood is a 327 cubic inch small-block with Chevy bowties on the valve covers and an incorrect air filter cover topping it off. Unfortunately, the seller doesn’t say if the engine is original to the car so more info on this would be absolutely required before moving forward with an offer.

Inside the car looks to be a silver interior with blue carpet and custom pedals. The non-original seats which are also customized feature blue seating inserts and an embroidered crossed-flags design in addition to the “CORVETTE” emblazed on the headrests. The mileage on the car reads 57,839.

Despite the car’s design faux-pas, the custom 1965 Corvette is priced affordably with a Buy It Now at $40,000. The auction ends on Monday, August 9th at 10:54 pm.
