[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Overview and a Hot Lap with Rick Malone at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas

Barrett-Jackson was in Las Vegas last month for their collector car auction event and so was Chevrolet and the folks from Spring Mountain who were offering the opportunity to check out the ride and handling of the mid-engine C8 Corvette in the parking lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

These kinds of events are a great marketing tool as Chevy and the Spring Mountain driving instructors can show just how fun these cars are to drive in just a couple of minutes, and the person who takes the ride usually ends it with a huge smile on their face.

J.C. Fernandez of Las Vegas Now was at the event and recently shared his Hot Lap experience on YouTube. First, J.C. met with Chevrolet’s Sean Finegan who provided a great overview of the Mid-Engine Corvette while also showing off the various control features inside the ‘Vette’s cockpit. But the real fun comes when “Ricky Bobby” aka Rick Malone enters the picture! Rick is the chief driving instructor and driving school director of the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain and he had the opportunity to let J.C. experience the ride and handling of the C8 on a closed autocross course. Rick also demonstrated the Launch Control feature which is capable of sending the Stingray 0-60 MPH in under 3 seconds.
