[VIDEO] Modded 2020 Supra Challenges a C7 Corvette Z06 But Can't Seal the Deal

A modified C7 Z06 takes care of business against a modded 2020 Toyota Supra in this two-minute battle of the eight-speed automatics, posted by YouTuber Can I Be Frank.

We’ve shown videos of other competitions held along this same stretch of unidentified highway, and we wish these fellows would take their toys to a dragstrip, as they appear to be racing dangerously in the midst of traffic.

But fortunately, they did manage to make it through several rolling races safely.

This MK V Supra started out with 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque with its BMW-sourced 3.0-liter straight-six, but the owner improved those figures with custom downpipes and an E50 tune. (The 2021 Supra, by the way, upped its stock figures to 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque thanks to a new exhaust manifold, redesigned pistons, and other tweaks.)

The Corvette, of course, left the Bowling Green factory with some 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, but the owner added custom headers and a cold air intake for better performance.

Another difference, if you’re into numbers, is that the Toyota wins the weight competition as it’s 125 lbs. lighter than the Chevrolet.

Of course, the number that really matters is 1 – as in #1 in the races.

The Supra driver appears to take off a little early on the rolling starts, but even at that, the Z06 comes roaring back to take the Toyota time after time.

  1. Why bother with such a lopsided competition? A plain 460 hp Stingray would have made a more interesting race.

  2. You need to stop showing these dangerous street racers, it just promotes what they do, giving them one more platform for their reckless and very dangerous behavior.
