Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for Feb 28th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Welcome back to another Delivery Dispatch with Mike Furman. If you are a new C8 Corvette owner, make sure you register for a two-day Spring Mountain class with Mike! The flyer with the details is below. This week Mike focuses the delivery spotlight out west and shares these photos of a Zeus Bronze Corvette Convertible that was courtesy delivered in California. Even when Mike can’t be there to hand you the keys, he’s there in spirit as the delivery photos will show! Mike also has a great throwback session and shares some rare documents related to Zora’s retirement from GM in 1975. As always, his vintage section will have you scrolling to the end. ~ So as you can imagine, I hear from many Corvette folks over the years and this past week was no different. I received a very kind email from a man that admires my weekly Corvette delivery posts these past few years. He had been a GM Engineer and worked along side Zora Duntov and he forwarded me pics of not only his own personal Corvettes back in the day but also included his invitation to Zora’s GM retirement dinner held in Zora’s honor dated January 1975. Talk about a cool historical piece!!! Here is what his email said. “Mike, I read your delivery dispatch weekly. Attached some Zora memorabilia from my days working at Chevrolet Engineering…..Dick Cunningham”

~Spotlight on one C8 delivery in California…This customer has sent me 5 referrals since picking up his new Corvette last week…all neighbors.

~Gene B. of Malibu and Calabasas, California read about me on the internet a few years ago after he purchased a 2017 Black Rose GS Convt from a local California dealer but the unfortunate part is he called me for guidance as his local dealer was not assisting him to his satisfaction. It seems he was having power train issues so I gave him a way to go which led him to a GM buyback. Then Gene wanted to find an identical Black Rose Corvette which wasn’t so easy! I found the only one available and it was located in Chicago, Illinois and at that point I stepped aside and he bought that Corvette. A year later he calls me and puts a deposit down for a C8…because I had helped him through the C7 process he appreciated all my experience at guiding him and navigating him through some difficult days. Fast forward to last week as he took delivery of a brand new 2021 Zeus Bronze Z51 convt through a courtesy delivery at a Chevrolet dealer in Santa Paula, CA that I had arranged for him. Equipment list:3LT pkg, two tone natural interior, CF painted Nacelles/top, body color accents, front lift, CF instrument trim, edge red calipers, magnetic ride, Black trident wheels and much more. Take a look at the pictures in his driveway with his 1958 Continental Mark III by Lincoln…which just so you know is the very first Convt with power down glass window just like the HTC C8!!

Here is Gene’s own words…”I want to thank you for the wonderful, albeit long-experience in ordering and receiving my C8 Convertible in an amazing Zeus Bronze (photos don’t capture or do this justice, in person beyond amazing) with 2-tone Natural seats. But worth the long wait. I was extremely nervous about my choice of the Zeus Bronze, Carbon Flash top and 2-tone Natural interior right up till the exact moment I saw the car in person. Beyond happy. Beyond expectations. You patiently guided me through the order process and I am grateful for every single option and detail choice I made with that help. I think everyone else has noted what an incredible car this is and it is everything everyone says and more, yes more (especially at 501 miles!). BTW, I’m keeping my 2017 Black Rose C7 GS. This is by far, not only the finest Vette ever made, it’s possibly one of the finest cars ever made, build quality, details, ride, handling, looks and my purchase process, all world-class. The courtesy delivery dealer in nearby Santa Paula, CA, has also added to the entire great experience since I couldn’t be in enjoying freezing, snowy, rainy Gaithersburg, so I’ll suffer here in Los Angeles with the heated seats on and the top-down! So, I noted to you by taking a Courtesy Delivery, I will miss the famous and excellent Mike Furman handover I see every week on your blog but I think I channeled that experience well….my wife with Mike, thanks Mike! That’s my banker holding your picture over his face with my wife. I’m the photographer. So now I have what I believe to be the only 2 American convertibles ever made with retractable rear glass window! Three incredible cars, incredible colors, all powerful V8’s….the way a car should be, haha.

thanks!….the Continental Mark III was originally ‘Autumn Rose’ but I changed it to (a correct 1958 more subdued pink/peach) color called ‘Sunset’. I think I can park a Vette in the trunk with room to spare.
