[VIDEO] Best Doug! Automotive Reviewer Doug DeMuro Names the C8 Corvette is His Favorite of 2020

YouTuber Doug DeMuro says he consider only one car for his second annual “Doug of the Year” award for 2020.

Guess which one it was?

That’s right – the new mid-engine Corvette Stingray gets the nod as basically Doug’s version of the “Car of the Year,” and he says it wasn’t even close.

“I didn’t even consider anything else for this title,” he says of the 2020 Corvette in a new video where he also handed out several other unique awards that we won’t bore you with.

“I reviewed it back in March,” Doug says. Nine months and some 120 other cars later, he calls the new Stingray “the best car I reviewed this year.”

Since that initial review, Doug has climbed behind the wheel of another 2020 Corvette, a rental car he experienced for three days and 400 miles in Florida.

“I was even more excited by it during that time,” he says, “than I was when I first reviewed it.”

In Doug’s words, the new Corvette is “amazing,” “insanely fast,” “really cool” and “really sleek” in the looks department, and “great” technically.

“I love it,” he says. “I love that they’ve done it. I love that they’ve done it for this price point. The fact that they were over sticker for so long just proves how much interest and excitement there was. That wasn’t really happening with C7 or C6, but this car, there’s so much interest, intense interest in it. With great reason.”

In short, Doug says the mid-engine Corvette proved to be “one of those rare cars where there’s a ton of hype and then it shows up and it’s actually as good as the hype says.”

By the way, the five runners-up for “Doug of the Year” were, starting from fifth runner-up to first runner-up, Tesla Model Y, Porsche Cayman GT4, Ford Bronco Sport, Cadillac Escalade, and Land Rover Defender.

But “unquestionably, without a doubt,” Doug confirms the C8 is the winner of his ultimate award.
