Chevrolet Canada is offering a new video featuring a Corvette Virtual Chat with members of the Corvette production team and Corvette Hall of Fame racer Ron Fellows. Joining in the chat was Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, Product Manager Harlan Charles and Corvette Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion.
Ron is hosting the chat and puts various questions to the team including “why now was the right time to go mid-engine” as well as name your “favorite things about the C7 and C8 Corvettes.” The answers to that last question were very insightful as each of the team members offered up several features they love on both generations.
The C8 Stingray Convertible continues to win fans as Ron Fellows himself says “the convertible is just absolutely stunning…especially with the top down.” Kirk and Tadge also weigh in on the Convertible’s functionality and the fun of “showing off” how it operates. Tadge jokes that he likes to use the remote to put down the top when he sees someone checking out the car.
The topic of the virtual chat turns to the cancelation of travel to various Corvette events due to COVID-19 with the team members lamenting they were not able to meet with all the new owners of the C8 Corvette to get their feedback and impressions in this inaugural year. They also expressed missing out on the racing events as well as seeing each other in person instead of via video chat.
The last part of the conversation turns to the special auction for the last C7 Grand Sport and the first C8 Corvette in Canada to raise funds for “Sharon’s Kids, a philanthropic organization that provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged children. That auction closes today and only Canadian residents may participate in the fundraiser.
This was a fun chat so make sure you set aside 20 minutes to catch up with Ron, Tadge, Kirk, and Harlan for a great discussion about the Chevrolet Corvette.
