[VIDEO] Hennessey Performances Offers Lightweight Custom Wheels for the C8 Corvette

In case you’d like to put your new mid-engine Corvette on a little diet, Hennessey Performance can offer a helping hand.

Like everyone else, these Texas-based tuners have been delayed a little while on developing what they originally hoped would lead to a 1,200-horsepower twin-turbo version of the Corvette’s stock LT2 engine, because of difficulty breaking into the encrypted ECU of the car.

But that doesn’t mean Hennessey hasn’t been busy in other ways as they at least try to give owners of the 2020 Stingray some weight-saving options.

Hennessey just released a video revealing its new lightweight forged alloy wheels, complete with an attractive nine-spoke design, that slice a total of 22 pounds off the stock wheels all the way around.

The 19×18.5 front wheels weigh 21.3 pounds each, compared to 25.6 for the OEMs, while the 20×11 rear wheels tip the scales at 25.4 pounds, nearly seven pounds lighter than the 32.1 OEMs.

Hennessey began its mods for the C8 with a stainless steel exhaust that is both louder and lighter than the OEM system.

While we think the new wheels are attractive, we won’t be getting them for our own C8. But even if you’re in the same boat as us, we still think it’s worth your time to watch the introductory video for the wheels as they’re beautifully spotlighted in action spinning donuts with that louder Hennessey exhaust providing lovely background music.
