[VIDEO] Ferrari F8 Tributo Photoshoot Turns into a Drag Race with a 2020 Corvette

A rolling photoshoot of a Ferrari F8 Tributo and a Chevrolet C8 turns into an impromptu battle in this video from Brooks at Drag Times.

The 2020 Ferrari F8 replaces the outgoing 488GTB and rolled into this competition with a twin-turbo V8 generating 710 horsepower and 561 ft-lb of torque that Ferrari says will produce 0 to 60 times of 2.9 seconds.

Of course, the Ferrari also starts out at a mind-boggling $276,550 and then climbs even higher into the stratosphere with options.

We aren’t told the list price of Kyle’s Corvette used in this test, but we do learn that it’s been upgraded by an estimated 20 to 30 horsepower with a Fabspeed exhaust with sport cats and Kooks headers and also features a matte black wrap, a duckbill carbon fiber spoiler from RSC, a ground effects package said to be identical to OEM, Vossen wheels. It’s also been lowered on the Z51 suspension.

We’ll try not to spoil things for you, but you can watch for yourself as the C8 more than holds its own in short runs, but the Ferrari pulls away the longer the two supercars race.

No shame in that, but Brooks admits that the test run gives a good baseline for future upgraded models of the Corvette possibly included the Z06, ZR1, and Zora.

We aren’t told the official Corvette times in the video, but Brooks admits, “I gotta say very impressive with the C8 0 to 60. It was liked dead even, and … after that it wasn’t so close. But nevertheless getting to 60 in under 3 seconds….”

In the video, we do learn that the F8 reaches 60 mph in 3.03 seconds and turns the quarter in 10.41 seconds at 138.06 mph. Brooks also includes another F8 owned by a guy out in California and on the first run, it manages an even better 10.29 seconds in the quarter at 139 mph on 91 octane.

All in all, not a bad day’s work for the new mid-engine Corvette, considering it starts out under $60,000.
