As the man who once held the self-described “Best Job in the World,” Jim Mero was known as the guy who got to drive the newest Corvettes on various test tracks around the world including the Nurburgring. Following the completion of the 2019 Corvette ZR1, Jim retired from GM in September 2018 after 34 years of service. Today, he is still tuning the ride and handling of C6 Corvettes by offering custom programming changes to the car’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control shocks.
This week, Jim joins Steve Garrett to tell his stories on the hottest Corvette podcast in town, CORVETTE TODAY.
Steve Garrett gets the inside scoop from Corvette Test Driver Jim Mero! Jim talks extensively about test driving the C7 Corvette, Z06, Grand Sport and his favorite Corvette of all time…the C7 ZR1. You’ll hear about Nurburgring testing, lap and track times for C6 and C7 Corvettes and more. Learn about benchmark cars for Corvette. Plus, all the insight on how Magnetic Ride Control was developed. Now that Jim is retired, you’ll learn about his own business….and yes, he’s still in the car tuning business! It’s a truly fascinating episode of CORVETTE TODAY!
