We’ve been enjoying some of the videos coming out of the 2020 Corvette First Drive event from Las Vegas last week and it’s been fun watching the various automotive outlets test the new C8 Corvette. If you are moving a bit slow today, perhaps this video will get the blood flowing to all the right parts.
This quick video from Motorsport Magazine shows a quick walk-around of an Elkhart Lake Blue base coupe. Once the driver is in the car, the configurable dash is set to track mode and we notice the performance timer on the display. The driver engages Launch Control and then the 2020 Corvette pulls off a wide open throtte sprint. With the dash reconfigured for kilometers per hour, we see the car easily pull past 200 kph and he keeps going to 215 kph which works out to about 133 MPH!
From Motorsport Magazine via YouTube:
Come onboard the new Corvette C8 Stingray for an acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h with launch control actived.

Did anyone figure out how long it took him to get up to 215 km or roughly 133mph I counted about 15 seconds please don’t reply to me just post what you think, thanks
Are you sure it’s a base car? Looks like 3LT trim level. There is no spoiler, non Z51?
PDR would show all the info, then you take the usb card and load it into your computer and open Cosworth Toolbox. You can analyze any and all parts of the info. Just like the big boys do.
I call the non-Z51 cars the “base cars” despite their trim level, and I should have specified that in the post.
