The return of WEC racing to the Circuit of the Americas not only featured the debut of the No.63 Corvette C8.R and the return of Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller, but also a large showing of the Corvette faithful. Nearly 200 Corvettes registered for the Lone Star Le Mans Corvette Corral and many of these Corvettes were sporting clever vanity plates.
The vast majority of Corvettes on hand were from Texas, but Oklahoma, Idaho, and California were also represented.
My favorite was a black C7 Z06 representing the Dark Side of the Force with TYFYTER. A yellow C6 with ROSE 2 represented the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew. Another black C7 Z06 was seen taunting the rest of the pack with SLOW Z06 and a blue C6 ZR1 was appropriately tagged BLU3 DVL. And finally, Tweety Bird was well represented with TWTYBD on a yellow C6 and TWEETY B on a yellow C7 decked out in full Corvette Racing livery.
