I’ve recently made an observation about Black C8 Corvettes. I’ve seen more than a couple of Black C8 Corvettes since the reveal, yet every new sighting always seems like I am looking at it for the first time.
Maybe it’s time for another intervention from Corvettes Anonymous! Or maybe I just need to see more Black C8 Corvettes!
Let’s go with option 2 for now as I share this Black 2020 Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe doing an engine start-up and the beautiful exhaust note coming from the 495-hp LT2 V8.
From CamaroSix via Instagram:
Based on the license plate, this is a Black C8 Corvette that has been spied multiple times. In fact, it was once driven by none other than Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles.
Which leads me back to my original observation in that maybe we are not seeing multiple Black C8s, just the same one over and over…
Update
After saying all that about Black C8 Corvettes, I just came across this Black 2020 Corvette Stingray photo also on Instagram as well…

Surrounded by over weight bald guys. That is why GM is looking for the younger crowd.
GM is looking for the folks with the money to spend, Bob.
Wonder how many of those overweight bald guys are former/current/future Corvette owners? Profiling is wrong, Bob…
Everytime I get tempted about the C8 I walk out into my garage and turn the light on. Then I ogle my beautiful 2018 C7 painted Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat with two Cyber Grey racing stripes and I know I’m good with it. C7s are much more beautiful and Corvettey looking. Yes, it’s a word. I just made it one.
Chuck, agree with you, but a lot of young guys and ( gasp ) gals are making 6 figure salary’s, and that is the group GM is looking at.
Corvette is not expensive when you look at the price of a loaded Tahoe or Suburban. And you see a lot of young people driving these as one of their 2 or 3 cars.
Yes,, true, and there are highly-paid marketing people trying to figure all that out. Escapes me – I have grandchildren who absolutely love SUVs and pick-up trucks…at their age I had “different taste” and still do.
Yeah it looks like the bald and fat club is over . New blood coming to the C8. Notice no more freakin chrome wheel option
It seems like the end of the real Corvette
And the start of a new Corvette
Joel, I didn’t profile these people, the picture did.
I’m with you Craig. My arctic white 2019 Stingray looks just fine!
Link does not work.
I am a life long 63 year old car nut. My childhood was spent reading car magazines and dreaming. When I was 12, I started building my own cars (My Dad had a car lot). From the 60’s, I wanted Chevy to build a mid-engine Corvette and I never stopped. I have owned Ferrari, NSX (which is the closest thing quality wise to the C8, yet I never got over the 6 banger. It was a pleasure to drive, though.) Since, GM has MASTERED drivetrains and NOW they introduce the exotic killer. Yes, I have my order in for a C8. Price is a frikkin’ BARGAIN! To say you can’t afford one is to say you settled for a mediocre life.
Did it take a WOMAN running GM to bring this masterpiece to fruition?
Thank you, Mary!!!
