Corvettes on eBay: 2009 Corvette ZR1 Falls to Under $50K on eBay

We knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. And it has.

A C6 ZR1 has finally dropped below the $50,000 mark. Barely.

A seller on eBay is advertising a 2009 Cyber Gray ZR1 – which would have cost north of $120,000 when new – for the bargain basement price of $49,900. We’ve been seeing prices in the mid-50s for months, but now we’re finally into the 40s!

Now, those of us who were debating buying either a C7 Z51 or Z06 or a C6 ZR1 have more fodder to chew. (Of course, the big drawback for some of us remains that the C6 ZR1 has a fixed roof and a 6-speed transmission, no matter how low the price falls.)

And while this ZR1 isn’t the lowest mileage example you will be able to find, with just 55,475 miles on the clock, it’s far from being worn out. In fact, based on a post I read earlier this morning on Corvette Forum, low mileage isn’t always the best way to go as a poster noted his C3, while low mileage, was nevertheless having all kinds of problems.

If you can’t afford a new ZR1, this might be the answer for you, especially since the seller shows receipts for more than $20,000 worth of performance modifications made to the car since 2016, which is claimed to generate more than 750 horsepower now – right up there with a 2019 ZR1!

“Vehicle has a mild to wild switch,” the ad also says. “Custom catch can. This vehicle sounds amazing!”

Best of all, if the seller is accurate in his assessment of the car, it sounds like this could be a real deal as he claims “all the way around it is almost a perfect vehicle.”

So lay it on the table: Would you rather have a 2009 ZR1 or a 2015 Z51?
