Corvettes on Craigslist: 1967 Convertible Convertible in New Orleans

Sometimes you have to humble yourself before the prize is yours.

Just ask this 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible that’s being stored under a shed in New Orleans.

Yes, that’s a weed eater on the hood and a dirty mop on the trunk of this Sting Ray, that’s also surrounded by several pots, a dog crate, a lawn chair, a push mower, and a propane tank for a grill. The inside is also cluttered with assorted items.

But underneath all that mess is the beauty of a C2 Corvette that just needs a little TLC to bring it back to the dignity it once possessed.

Are you up to the task?

This Corvette is up for sale on craigslist for $36,000 or best offer.

The 4-speed Sting Ray has a 327 engine that last started in 2009 and “needs to be rebuilt,” according to the seller.

The car is now multiple shades of a faded reddish purple, though the seller claims that the original color was lime green – not an option in 1967 last time we checked, however.

We’d love to see this one restored. What would you pay for it as is?

  1. I would not pay $36K, maybe $20K.
I don’t understand why someone would not take better care of a Corvette like that. Shame on them

  2. You criticized the seller for an in correct comment on the color.
But, you said the car had a mop on the TRUNK…was that an option, not the Last time I looked.
Pot should not call the Kettle Black.

  3. 36K, no way! 10 – 15K is more like it. If it was a big block then maybe 20 or 25K. After a full body restoration you’ll have more into it than you could sell it for and you could buy one fully restored for less than what it would cost you to do it. Just the economics of restoration. It’s a labor of love, not a way to make money.

  4. One would think they would have at least cleaned up the car n area around it, aired the tires, washed the car – not just to get the most money but to not look like a fool treating a treasure like that

  5. …..if you buy a car like this….it’s because of love no mater if the cost of a resto. is more than the valeu…..you going to drive and enjoy the lady ….not sel her….
