Have You Made Your Corvette New Year's Resolutions?

As the year comes to an end, many of us are making our resolutions for the New Year.

But have your made your Corvette Resolutions yet?

Just like the goals you want to accomplish in your personal life, your Corvette resolutions can focus both on the health and well-being of your car (care and maintenance) while also creating a bucket list of things to do with your Corvette that you will try to accomplish.

If you live in northern part of the country, chances are your Corvette may already be put away for the winter. Why not spend some of that downtime to do some routine maintenance on your car. Perhaps your interior is starting to fade, your seats are ripped or you have something that just bugs you every time you take your car out for a spin.

Show your Corvette off at a local car show

I know my car has a few quirks. My sun visors fall down all the time and my rear view mirror won’t stay in position which requires constant adjustment. The new year is a great time to address these items and cross them off your list before Spring arrives. Check out our great friends from Corvette America, Corvette Central, Mid America Motorworks and Zip Corvette Parts. We recommend that sign up for their emails as all of the big catalogers offer great specials and savings on Corvette parts and accessories throughout the year.

One of my personal resolutions of the year is to get my garage back in order and reclaim some of the space I lost by decluttering and getting rid of those things that are just broken or no longer needed. While probably not for me this year, I do have my eyes on a Titan 4-post lift which could go along way to creating an extra parking space in the garage by going vertical.

How’s your Corvette’s insurance policy? Bet you don’t hear that question often. Are you getting the best coverage available for price you are paying? Is your coverage keeping up with the market values? If your Corvette isn’t an everyday driver, head over to the NCM Insurance Agency and get a free insurance quote. You can get a great policy with an “agreed upon” value and your helping the NCM. Moving my 1966 Corvette’s insurance over there a few years back was one of the best New Year’s Resolutions I have ever fulfilled.

Attend a large car auction like Mecum or Barrett-Jackson

Perhaps you are saving up to buy a new Corvette. Over the last couple of months, we’ve written about the BuyPower Card from Capital One and how every day purchases with the card create Earnings which can be used for the downpayment (or purchase) of any new GM vehicle. I just got my own GM BuyPower Card from Capital One and am on my way to saving for a new Corvette!

And speaking of buying a new Corvette, we work with some of the best Chevy dealerships including the number one Corvette dealership in the world, Kerbeck Corvette and the number one Corvette salesperson in the country, Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet. Our friends at Sport Chevrolet outside of Baltimore can also help get you behind the wheel of your dream Corvette.

And if you do buy new Corvette (or just recently bought one), make sure to book your two-day adventure at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain. You only have one year to use your $1,500 voucher from GM from the day of purchase so don’t let it expire!

Attend a IMSA Corvette Race and park in the Corvette Corral

If your thinking of owning a classic Corvette or something just a few years old, we got you covered there as well. ProTeam Corvette is about the best in the business when it comes to buying and selling collector-grade classic Corvettes and our friends at AllVette.net in Florida always have a great selection of pre-owned C5 and C6 Corvettes.

Will 2017 be the year you finally sell your Corvette? Our sister website is VetteFinders.com and our classified ads start at just $25 and all Corvette ads run until it’s sold. We’ve been running VetteFinders since 1996 and have helped literally thousands of Corvette enthusiasts buy and sell their cars over the last 21 years.

Attend one of the national shows like Corvettes at Carlisle, Bloomington Gold and Corvette Funfest

Now that we have name-dropped our great Corvette sponsors (and believe me when I say they are the best at what they do which is why they are here), here’s a list of ten activities that are perfect for any Corvette owner’s bucket list:

  1. Join a local Corvette club
  2. Join the National Corvette Museum
  3. Visit the National Corvette Museum and take a factory tour at the Assembly Plant
  4. Show your Corvette off at a local car show
  5. Attend one of the national shows like Corvettes at Carlisle, Bloomington Gold and Corvette Funfest
  6. Go on a cruise with a bunch of other Corvette drivers
  7. Take your Corvette to an HPDE, autocross or drag strip
  8. Attend an IMSA Corvette Race and park in the Corvette Corral
  9. Attend a large car auction like Mecum or Barrett-Jackson
  10. Give a ride in your Corvette to a kid so he/she can dream about owning their own Corvette someday

  1. I’m keeping the same New Years resolution this year as I’ve used for 35 years. My resolution is: I’m going to have more fun this next year than I did last year. Beat that one.
