We’d hate to be in the shoes of these two Corvette drivers in the ritzy Buckhead area of Atlanta.

Not after they were chased by lawmen and caused several crashes early Saturday.

All the action started around 3 a.m. when Georgia State Patrol troopers saw the two Corvettes driving in a “reckless” manner and tried to pull them over.

The Corvettes fled the scene near East Wesley Road. What appears to be a silver Corvette Z06 Coupe based on photos first ran into a center median, causing extensive damage to the car’s left front wheel and undercarriage, but the driver didn’t give up – going at least another half mile on just three tires. He eventually hit a Hyundai that was turning in front of him, continued another block and hit a Chevy Malibu from behind, causing it to sideswipe a Toyota Corolla. The Corvette then hit a Mercedes in the rear before finally stopping.

“He had every intention of getting away from us in any manner he had available to him,” Sgt. First Class John Cronin said.

The unidentified Corvette driver was arrested and taken to Fulton County Jail and faces pursuit-related felony charges like fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.

The driver of the other Corvette managed to get away, though the car was found abandoned on the right shoulder of the Buford-Spring Connector near I-85.

A witness to the pursuit who was working as a security guard told 11 Alive News she had no idea what was going on.

“I was sitting in my vehicle and I heard a commotion and when I looked up, I saw a car that’s driving on three wheels, and there are sparks flying everywhere,” she said. “It went from very quiet to very loud.”

Fortunately, the drivers in the other cars suffered only minor injuries, with none being transported to the hospital.

“It’s a high-performance vehicle, and he was driving it without any regard for anyone around,” Sgt. Cronin said of the arrested driver. “We’re just lucky that no one died tonight as a result of his actions.”

It’s a shame that some knucklehead Corvette drivers can do something like this and give others a bad name. If you want to race, go to the track!

  1. I guess there are people on here like DD who thinks this jerk off should be allowed to live. NOT that moron should die screaming!

  2. i agree whole heartedly. 1. DO NOT DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANYTHING, it only kills and makes one do stupid stuff. 2. race at the track. I do not race my 15 Z06 on public roads. i have 22,435 miles in 15 months and enjoy driving at posted speed limits. some have accused me of speeding but state and local authorities have checked me out on busybodies reports of me soeeding. police have left me alone, they know how i drive. 3. i hate corvette drivers who make a bad name for the rest of us who just enjoy tooling around minding our own business. 4. i hope they throw the book at both drivers.
