All day long, employees at the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant give their all to putting America’s Sports Car together.
Many of them aren’t content with just working, though, and continue to help put their community together as well, volunteering their time after hours to help the less fortunate in their community.

After last month’s announcement that the Bowling Green Assembly Plant Manager Jeff Lamarche was being promoted to the Flint Assembly Plant, we’ve been wondering who would be appointed as the Jeff’s replacement. Today, that news came from the National Corvette Museum as they tweeted a welcome to Kai Spande who will take the reins officially on September 1st.

If you happen to buy a new Corvette in roughly two years, you can likely thank the previous customers of the seventh-generation Stingray for your improved paint job.
The overwhelming success of the new Corvette, introduced in 2014, no doubt heavily influenced General Motors’ announcement today that it will be investing $439 million at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, most of which will go to a new Corvette paint shop that will include “substantial technology upgrades,” according to GM.

We treat our Corvettes like babies.
Now this video produced by ExxonMobil takes a behind-the-scenes look at the Corvette “birthing” process, including the first bottle given to the new “infant” – full of Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil, not milk!
The video is particularly significant now because Chevrolet just produced the 600,000th Corvette filled with Mobil 1 motor oil, a feat that took 21 years to accomplish.

Since 1992, Mobil 1 motor oil has been the “factory-fill” brand of oil at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green. And if the factory is recommending the use of Mobil 1 oil, then that’s what you should use, right?

Anyone who had been hoping to see their Corvette Stingray or Z06 roll down the assembly line Tuesday will have to wait at least one more day.
That’s because of the havoc being created by winter storm Octavia that has already dumped more than 6 inches of snow from Missouri to Kentucky, forcing General Motors to shut down the second shift at the Corvette Assembly Plant on Monday night and both shifts on Tuesday. (Maintenance crews were told to report for their regular shifts, however.)
