On Friday morning, we sat down with Corvette/Camaro’s Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick and Chevrolet Communications’ Monte Doran to talk about the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Specifically, we wanted to discuss how the shipping process was working as well as try to get some additional answers on the Quality Assessments that each of the Corvette Stingrays is undergoing before shipment to the dealers.
As you can imagine, life is pretty hectic at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green right now.
Plant manager Dave Tatman took time out to talk to a crowd of 300 people Tuesday at the Barren River Area Development District’s annual luncheon at the National Corvette Museum just across from the assembly plant.
Here’s a great picture that shows just how fast the 1400-car shipping lot at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant is filling with brand spanking new 2014 Corvette Stingrays. We understand that the Quality Control process has been very tight, but with this many Stingrays lined up and ready to go, it most likely means that the QC isn’t finding many issues and production is ramping up.
Here’s a welcomed sight through the fence at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green. Two rows of 2014 Corvette Stingray convertibles in various colors all lined up and looking ready for some sunshine.
Over the weekend at Corvettes at Carlisle, select GM engineers in attendance gave a series of quickie seminars (5-10 minutes and then Q&A) at the top of each hour. On Saturday morning, Steve Grilli, Bowling Green Assembly’s Quality Manager spoke and confirmed that retail production for the 2014 Corvette Stingray is underway as well as some other interesting tidbits of Stingray news.
We know that the most important question right now on people’s minds is when will production start for retail customers who have ordered the 2014 Corvette Stingray? Unfortunately, the only correct answer we have is “soon”. But until that magical date happens, how about we watch a video that shows just how the new 7th generation Corvette Stingray will be assembled.
It looks like the Corvette Assembly Plant has been busy cranking out examples of the 2014 Corvette Stingrays because they are literally everywhere in Bowling Green this weekend for the Corvette Museum’s 60th Anniversary celebration. Check out our photo gallery of the Corvette Stingrays seen at the Museum and at the Assembly Plant from Thursday.
