At the end of every production year, the Bowling Green Assembly Plant posts a list of “Options Penetration” showing how many of each type of Corvette, color and options were built so that new Corvette owners could try to figure out how rare their car may be.
Even though that list isn’t out yet, we do have some preliminary data that we would like to share as part of our farewell to the C6 Corvette!
Early Thursday morning just after 8 am, an Arctic White 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible rolled off the assembly line at Bowling Green’s Corvette Assembly Plant. Not only was it the final Corvette of the 2013 model year, but it was also the very last C6 Corvette made.
Here is an interesting Corvette spotted on the Boulevard inside the National Corvette Museum. It’s a 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible with the 60th Anniversary package. But as you can see, the Corvette is also wearing the same Indy 500 graphics that the 2013 Corvette ZR1 wore as the Pace Car for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing earlier this year in May.
TV’s longest running automotive series, MotorWeek, will feature 2 Callaway Corvettes on an episode debuting this week on PBS stations. The show will subsequently air on the Velocity and SPEED networks. Tune in to see the MotorWeek crew put a 25th anniversary SC620 and a SC652 427 Convertible through their paces.
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is well known for his foodie show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and earlier this year we learned that he has a taste for cars as well – namely those wearing a bow-tie. Guy drove the 2012 Corvette ZR1 pace car at this year’s Indy 500 and that opportunity allowed him to get close to Corvette Team who worked with him to create his very own custom 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible.
Charles Johnson was like so many of us. We enter a contest and never give it another thought, figuring we won’t be lucky enough to ever win.
At least for this Raleigh, North Carolina man, who beat the odds and actually won a 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible.
