Since its inauguration in 1911, Chevrolet has been a staple on the racetrack, having competed in every major contest over the past century. We received an email from a Corvette owner living in England this week who wanted to share his appreciation of Corvettes with those of us living in the States. Brian and his wife Angie joined two other couples for a European road trip through France, Germany and Switzerland. Some of prettiest scenery on Earth looks even better behind the wheel of a Corvette.

GM celebrated the event with a special Indy 500 Pace Car replica, a fully optioned Corvette painted Black and Silver and featuring silver interior and polished aluminum wheels. When the Wall Street Journal published a front page story on March 27,1978 reporting on the special edition Corvette, prices went wild and many of the 6502 replicas were purchased as investments by collectors.
Good morning Corvette fans! How about we start the day with some coffee and donuts. There are some people who have been blessed with the do-it-yourself gene and then there’s Corvette Forum member “Mewn” who has taken the art of custom fabrication to a new level. Mewn’s 1981 Corvette was already a head turner with its huge high-rise 505 big block sticking out of the custom hood. Mewn had been working on the interior and already had installed a custom stereo controlled by a touch screen DVD player, but that quite wasn’t good enough and so he decided to install an Apple iPad2 instead.
