Today we have some really great news on the 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette!
We’ve got two videos of five C8 Mid-Engine Corvette prototypes that are testing in Southern California. The first video is only six seconds, but within the slow pan we see the five prototypes, several support vehicles, a C7 Corvette Stingray Convertible, and Corvette’s Vehicle Performance Manager Alex MacDonald. The second video features the C8 Corvettes driving down the road.

It was just over a month ago that CarScoops.com broke the internet with the first spy photos of the C8 mid-engine interior. Its reveal showed many of the details that had been alluded to over the last few months which included the slanted divide with the climate control buttons, a two-spoke steering wheel, and that funky gear selector.

This pic of a C8 Corvette was snagged on Washington Street in San Diego according to YouTuber RevMatchTV who shared it with the ME Corvette enthusiasts over on the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com.
As Chevrolet prepares to launch the most significant update to the Corvette since 1963, many enthusiasts have been trying to determine where the C8 mid-engine Corvette might be revealed.
Patience is a virtue.
My father-in-law preached that mantra to his daughters back in the day, and still does.
In this particular case, his advice would have been especially well taken. This barn find 1968 Corvette convertible came out of apparent years of storage last year and was offered back then on craigslist for $24,000.

Here’s a sight that’s guaranteed to give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. A pair of camo-clad C8 Mid-Engine Corvette Prototypes were spotted in San Diego today, which I think would probably qualify the drivers for the club award for most distance traveled from home.
As the C7 Corvette generation matures, it’s only natural that sales of new Corvettes would start to decline from their highs of 40,689 as we saw in 2016. Since then, we have watched as Corvette sales have dropped with each GM Sales Report and a new low was reached last month with just 800 Corvettes sold in January 2019.
Meanwhile the Bowling Green Assembly Plant continues to build new Corvettes which is leading to a huge supply of new Corvettes available.
George Barris is widely considered to be the king of custom cars. His notable creations include the original Batmobile, the Munsters’ Koach, and Black Beauty from the original Green Hornet series among numerous other famous creations. Another of his creations, a crazy custom 1958 Corvette, is up on eBay right now looking for a new home.
