On Thursday afternoon during Day 1 of the National Corvette Museum’s Bash event, the staff of the NCM and enthusiasts gathered at the Gateway entrance for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of its renovation.

Corvette Assembly Plant to Add a Second Shift and 400 Jobs Ahead of C8 Rollout


General Motors announced today that the Bowling Green Assembly Plant will be adding 400 new hourly jobs and a second shift to support the production of the C8 mid-engine Corvette. GM’s CEO Mary Barra made her first visit to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant on Thursday afternoon to personally deliver the news to workers at the plant and local media.

At first glance, you might think this 1973 custom Corvette wagon is just another kit car.

But according to a current listing on eBay, it’s actually the creation of a former GM designer named Harry Bradley, who also designed 11 of 16 first-edition Hot Wheels cars and taught at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California for 35 years.

A 29-year-old Corvette driver and his female passenger are in jail now after speeding away Friday afternoon from officers in two Indiana counties and trying to hide from them, first behind a home and then in a cemetery, during a chase that lasted more than two hours.

Utilizing a real photograph as the background very much enhances these renders by making the C8 Corvette appear almost real. Here’s another sighting of the C8 Corvette prototypes in Ohio. While we can make out a McDonald’s restaurant in the background, we are not exactly sure of the location in Ohio.

It looks like the Corvette Team has taken its pre-reveal marketing plan to a whole new level as the group of C8s feature several camo-only prototypes with the same 07.18.19 reveal date graphics on the doors as we saw on the C8 Corvette in NYC. Driving through the state of Ohio is sure to result in even more photos so keep your eyes open and let us know if you come across any.
